Will artificial intelligence take the 'human' out of human resources?

While many are optimistic about the opportunities AI presents, concerns have also emerged about the robotic tool’s suitability within people-oriented industries like HR.

Fears that the use of artificial intelligence in HR could result in employees feeling disconnected from their organisations are valid.

However with its proper usage, HR professionals can accelerate their repetitive work, actually giving them more time to better connect with their people.

For example, implementing a generative AI chatbot to answer basic HR questions could save an enormous amount of time as the task simply requires facts rather than emotional intelligence.

On the flip side, if someone has a workplace grievance, you don’t want that handled by AI, as it instead requires an empathetic human approach to understand and resolve the issue.

The best course of action is to ask: what are the moments that matter?

The next evolution

The reality is technology has become an integral part of our day-to-day, so why shouldn’t the workplace reflect that?

Technology should be welcomed, but to preserve the relationship with employees, the employee lifecycle and its key moments must be kept in mind.

Seek out the administration which ultimately takes you away from your people; by selecting the right tasks for AI, you can make your role more human than ever.
