As awareness of environmental responsibility grows, the financial barriers to reducing carbon footprints remain high for many. Recent research conducted by The Electric Car Scheme reveals that 53 per cent of British consumers say they cannot afford to reduce their carbon footprints and 62 per cent say that price is the biggest barrier to switching to an electric car. The Electric Car Scheme aims to overcome these financial barriers by making Net Zero the obvious choice.
Through salary sacrifice, The Electric Car Scheme allows employees to save 30-60 per cent on the cost of an electric car. These savings make Electric Vehicles (EVs) a feasible option for thousands of drivers, allowing them to save significantly while actively contributing to a more sustainable future. The results speak for themselves: employees who participate in the scheme not only save money but also show improved job satisfaction, with some companies observing up to a 50 per cent reduction in resignation rates among employees who benefit from the scheme.
The Electric Car Scheme is now driving greater accessibility by incorporating used EVs, which already constitute half of new business. This expansion allows more employees to find an affordable EV, without breaking the bank.
